Very good unit. Image quality. Good reactivity. Requires very high optical. Perfect for use in photo of architectural or studio and even reportage.
I use this device only as a camera. Previously, I was an amateur filmmaker. Then I switched to 16 mm. I stayed long faithful to the latter format because it gave me a picture quality that could offer me video equipment. Last year (2010), I learned that professional film, released in cinemas, had been shot with the Canon like Super 8. So,I decided to buy it. The price is much lower than that of a 16 mm camera, if it still exists.The result far exceeded my expectations: This device restores an image above the ..... 35MM!!. The sound is excellent, especially when using an auxiliary stereo microphone. In short, with the Canon, it has both the advantages of the video (low cost, shooting in all lighting conditions, approvaland possibilities of virtual editing, sound lip) and the pictorial quality and the best cinema sound professional.Filmmakers, brothers, here, finally, the Holy Grail. Not much to say except that a great case. Beautiful building, beautiful sight, intuitive menu, good image quality in high ISO up to 3200, amazing video mode. With the 24-105 f4 Is you a box pro with reasonable weight, coupled with a 70-200 F4 IS, as you have a case you can take without constraint by any weight or size and with an impeccable image quality. Brief but happiness for the enthusiast but also for the professional. Now it's greedy battery, minimum two batteries if you will not spend the day.

Hi, First of all here I'm not at all pro just passionate.

Until then I had my little 450d gave me great satisfaction to the day I took a friend Canon 5D Review in the hands of lightning flash!
I did not find as heavy as I feared, very intuitive, almost intuitively we start buttons, Getting Started quick and easy.
My first picture with the advice of my friend's settings (it takes more overexposed than the 450D is the most obvious.) And I see the first photo (Not good in hindsight) but with such a difference!. My first tests on horses in motion in very gray and rainy that will convince me that I have no need to burst:) and they just get in the Iso sudden I just increase my speed:) ((I thought one day go to 7D, before touching the 5dII).
At that moment I know it will be the Canon 5D, a dream machine, extremely easy to use.Acquired in early December, I had the time to really handle only recently confirmed the happy picture:). Then the video from 2 days so far I've always had a horror of camcorders, and although I must admit that I like the video now:))). It's unsettling at first, I'm still rocking boat, but the output quality is amazing! Proud owner of a Canon 5D until his recent flight, I plunged headlong into the world of full-frame sensor, which requires closer 24x36 photo digital money. Making the picture for many years, I let myself be tempted by this machine recently.
I used a Canon 400D and I was very pleased.I read the reviews that are made on the camera: autofocus a little slow (to dedicate to portrait or landscape), also a bit slow in low light, ... And then finally I cracked, I dreamed of 24-105, and the full frame made me eager for wide angle photos. Why, why, why did you wait so long? I thought that a 5D Mark III would come out soon ... So what? The Canon 5D will always be such good pictures even when the Mark IV will be released;). This device is a pure joy. Genuine Canon ergonomics is so appreciated the appointment tenfold but also by the ingenious engineers Canon. How fortunate to have access to braketing in 2 clicks, my collection of HDR will further increase. The difference between an amateur model and a model pro (or semi-pro) is amazing: both the use by the results.HD video is a nice touch and the results are impressive. Finally, take a camera, learn to tame it, make it your ally and enjoy making pictures! I have this unit for 2 weeks and the rendering of images is excellent.The sharpness is exceptional, but suddenly it requires attention to the development.
The AF is worse than the competition (Nikon) or 7D for tracking moving objects, but the central AF point is very precise, really, and the establishment rapid development in good light. The AF is sometimes a bit hesitant in low light or against days except with a built-in flash illuminator.
This is in all the AF is still very well made. The measurement of the light (I use primarily evaluative) is good but the black surfaces can put it into default (overexposure) then do attention.Also you have to think a correction disable automatic brightness which is useless if not interfere with the photographer, at least for me. With firmware 2.0.4 the video is a treat (shutter priority or aperture are now available, what fun), but the demand for training (the manual focus while shooting is not clear at full aperture).

I had the case of a Canon 5D Review with a few dead pixels: I returned the unit (refund). The new copy is nickel. For information, the remapping is possible without using the Service (the procedure is simple, search the web for details).Finally great increase in ISO: you find yourself shooting at 1000 ISO without realizing it until we put the nose 2cm from the screen of the PC. Super handy for someone like me who do not like the flash: with an aperture 2.8, no problem to capture the smile of the latest in the evening the calm of the ambient light of the show. HD video is a nice touch and the results are impressive.

Finally the full format accessible financially and what image quality! The video is an option much more exciting than I thought: quality cinema.

For the photo, the autofocus is a bit outdated but works perfectly in central collimator. The 21 megapixels provides little that I allow a start cropping bluffing than offsetting my max length of 200mm for sports or wildlife (especially RAW). The RAW in high ISO up to 4000 iso is usable without problems, the grain appears to 6400 but still acceptable (what progress). Do not hesitate - the kit 24-105 is perfect - very good optical. So go for it Canon 5D.

The DSLR (digital SLR) now represent the bulk of the fleet of SLR on the market. If the advent of digital technology brings many advantages, there are still some drawbacks that all brands have not yet resolved: the cleaning of the sensors because of those pesky dust!

Only Olympus had from the beginning, used a cleaning system integrated with its devices. The others follow ... more timidly than two years! Marketed cleaning solutions

Currently, there are many solutions - more or less effective elsewhere! I refer to some "mini-vacuum cleaners" - sold on the market. For most, it takes at a minimum investment € 70 ... when we should not buy the "refills" (pec pads and other accessories of the kind!) Just as expensive!

Reluctant to invest that much in cleaning materials, and especially not really "hot" to put on my Eclipse fluid sensor (I always hated my tracks by tile !!!), I had to find an easy, easy, knowing that by doing minimal attention, only a handful of dust is likely to come to stick by static electricity (grease stains can not seem to me personally, as it does not change its objectives by cooking butter!)

This solution is called an ionizer!
Why an ionizer?

An ionizer is a device that allows you to send one ion flux to be extremely simple, which neutralizes static electricity "loaded" into an object. The goal, as part of what interests us, is precisely to relieve the sensor (or rather the filter which protects) the static holding our little dust, the better to suck then!

I will not go on making such a device (which can be found on the market in accessories hifi, but sometimes prohibitive tariffs, so that we can make one yourself very easily from ... a gas lighter piezoelectric! see a design method in detail here - the final cost: by counting the purchase of a gas lighter low-end of a soldering iron and a coil of tin, € 12!)
 

There is no risk to use an ionizer on a DSLR sensor is a process used in electronics laboratories routinely.

Demonstration in pictures

Nothing is more convincing as a demonstration (guaranteed without special effects! Please excuse the quality of the images, they were made with the Kodak DC7220's son!) First, the necessary equipment:

 * Your ionizer (my lovely gas lighter blue as amended)
 * A medical swab (without fibers and can be found in pharmacies)
 * A small flashlight to see what you are doing
 * A vacuum cleaner (a Rowenta 1500W about me)

It is first necessary to "test" the sensor. For this traditional approach: we photograph a flat, light-colored uniform (ceiling?) By closing the aperture (f/11 at least I personally ... "farm" at the smallest aperture that I am supposed to use: no need close to f/32!) and then we look at the cleaning required ... ;-)

Step 3 (optional): Move the swab
This step is NO SUPPORT (it should only scratched the surface) and is especially useful in the corners, if your sensor is very dirty. It is intended to eventually "take off" the biggest dust recalcitrant. We preferred to use cotton swabs medical, non-fibrous (buy at pharmacies). The use of a specific solution can help, dry cleaning is not recommended for contact with a lot ;-)

NB: Since I have my EOS 5D, I've never gone through this stage, I want to clarify because I do not need.

Step 4 (optional): iron the ionizer

Step 5: vacuum chamber with a vacuum cleaner
To do this, position the tip about ten inches from the film plane, with the minimum power vacuum (this is not to pull an item from the machine!)
